Huffman, Iva Mae Swim

Iva Mae Swim Huffman, 91, of Riner, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Huffman.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Patricia and Wayne Whitlock; grandchildren, Teresa and Donald Thompson, Donald Whitlock, Dale Whitlock, and Amy and Robert Caldwell; 12 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and one very special great-great grandchild, Amber Whitlock.

She was retired Treasurer for the Town of Christiansburg. She was also a member of Blacksburg Rebekkah Lodge and a life-long member of Auburn United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 20, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kathy Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
