Edna Poff Huffman, 81, of Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Tuesday morning, October 23, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.

Born in Giles County on December 12, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John William and Nannie Maude Cole Poff. She was a beloved homemaker, mother and grandmother and a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin A. Huffman; a son, Stephen A. Huffman; five brothers, Roy, Virgil, Clarence, Arnold and Heber Poff; and a sister, Ola Brumfield.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and James Mullins of Ripplemead and Heather and Gregory Smith of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Meghan Mullins, Logan Smith and Jamie Huffman; a sister, Virginia P. Henry of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg on Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services from 5 to 7 p.m. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to The American Cancer Society.
