Thurman (Jack) Huff, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007, peacefully at home. He was born April 25, 1921.

A farmer all his life, Jack was also a logger and heavy equipment operator, and employed at Radford Arsenal and Bartlett Tree Experts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert J. and Emma Zetta Huff; brothers, Oakley Huff and wife Reba, Esley Huff and wife Gertrude, Edmond Huff, and Curtis Huff; sister, Gatha Alderman and husband Arnold.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Virgil Keith Huff, of Floyd; daughters, Janice Foro and husband Brad, Emma Jean Aldridge and husband Lowell, all of Bent Mountain; son, Marvin Huff and wife Becky, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Kelly Lewis and husband Ken, of Charleston, S.C., Gwyn and Craig of Phoenix, Ariz., Vonda Dillon and husband Gary, Shana Roop and husband Richard, all of Christiansburg, Travis Aldridge and fianc?e Lindsay Elkins, of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Trey and Lacy Dillon, Nikki and Ricky Roop, all of Christiansburg, Jessica Lewis, of Charleston, S.C.; brother, Coolidge Huff and wife Lelia, of Floyd, sister, Alzora Wood, of Floyd; sisters-in-law, Ruby Huff, of Richmond, Laura Huff, of Christiansburg; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Leasa Hickman and Jennifer Aldridge; beloved family and neighbors, David, Rhonda, Tonya and Brian Sowers.

Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. L.V. Marshall and staff and Sherry and Alta of Carilion Hospice. He was greatly loved by his family and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Gregg Mills, the Rev. Glen Sage and the Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Maberry Funeral Home.
