Hubbard, Gentry (Gene)

Gentry (Gene) Jenkins Hubbard, age 80 of Pulaski, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Gene was born on January 23, 1936, and was the son of the late Bertha Jenkins Hubbard and Albert Henry Hubbard. He was a retired Mechanical Contractor having last worked for Harris Mechanical, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd and 101st Airborne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Saunders: brothers; Ted, Junior, Jack and Bill: a sister, Virginia Graves, and a grandson; Andy Ridpath.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalee Edwards Hubbard of Pulaski: son; Kelly Gene Hubbard and his wife Sandy of Pulaski: three daughters; Becky Gray of Pulaski, Kathy Ridpath and her husband Frankie of Pulaski, and Terri Hubbard Shelburne and her husband Ron of Snowville: sisters; Betty Finn of Staunton, and Peggy Brown and her husband Horace of Hillsville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; April Ridpath, Eric Gray, Dagan Hubbard, Chris Hubbard, Dylan Meadows, Karly Hubbard, Jake Shelburne, Jessica Shelburne and Jenna Shelburne, and one great grandchild Andrew Ridpath, along with his trusted 13 year old dog Cody.

Gene will also be missed by many friends and neighbors. Those who knew Gene will always recall his kindness, smile, and willingness to help others.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
