Howery, Margaret Morris

Margaret Elizabeth Morris Howery, 88 of Floyd, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016. She was preceded by her brothers, Harry Morris, Frank Morris, Jack Morris and sister, Dorothy Epperly.

Margaret and her husband operated the Pine Tavern Restaurant & Motel in their earlier years. She went to work for Floyd County School System and worked in the cafeteria until she retired. She was a dedicated blood donor and donated 20 gallons in her lifetime.

She is survived by her sons, Sterling Blake Howery, Jr., Layne Wilson Howery, Joseph Morris Howery; sisters, Betty Joyner, Jeanie Altizer, Frances Teel; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating with interment in the Jacksonville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
