Howell, Frank Raymond

Frank Raymond Howell, 76, of Christiansburg, passed away on October 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry ‘Tobe’ Howell and Lillian Thompson Howell; as well as sisters, Mary Caudle, Katie Yopp, Jennie Mae Harris, Viola Robertson, William ‘Rangely’ Howell, James Howell, and Paul Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Dorraine Howell Phillips and husband, Richard; sons, Roger Howell and wife Robin, and Gary Howell and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Amanda McChesney, Emily Reed and husband, Michael, Heather Quesenberry, Joseph Phillips, and Curtis Howell; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Ethel Howell; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Carilion Hospice, Nurse Dixie Whitt, and the Medical Care Unit of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center for their care of Ray.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home.
