Ethel Maxine Howell, 72, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at her home in Radford. She was retired from Radford University Housekeeping Dept. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Howell; parents, Leo and Audrea DeWitt; sister, Barbara McCready; and brothers, Robert, Ronald and Thomas DeWitt.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Randy Hopkins of Hiwassee; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Sandy Howell of Radford, Randy and Pat Howell of Radford, Carl and Tina Howell of Christiansburg, and Leo Howell of Radford; grandchildren, Kim and Jason Dunbar, Randall and Mandy Hopkins, Krista and Caedan Howell, Susan and Mike, and Bradie and Nicole Howell; brothers, Charles, George and Richard DeWitt, all of Maryland; sisters, Betty Sexton of Woodlawn, Mary DeWitt, Debbie Wissig, and Shirley Burkett, all of Maryland, Martha Harris of Indiana, and Nancy Best of Louisiana; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
