Howell, Dorthy Vargo

Dorthy Howell, 84 of Christiansburg, passed away on October 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Howell; parents, James and Alice Vargo; granddaughter, Jennifer Vest; as well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Dorthy is survived by her children, Debbie Vest (Randy), Pam Haas (Jack), Judy Moody (Fred), Dana Anderson (Blake); grandchildren, David Vest, Mark Vest, Jason Haas, Jeremy Haas, Justin Haas, Scott Anderson, Victoria Anderson; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Dorthy attended Belmont Christian Church. She retired from Publix Supermarket and Kroger. She loved to read. Everyone was always welcomed and accepted in her home. If you went away from the dinner table hungry it was your own fault as she always prepared more than enough.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and all the staff at Commonwealth Senior Living.

Visitation is Friday, October 28, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
