Howard, Tennyson Edgar
Tennyson Edgar (T.E.) Howard, 82, of Floyd, Va., died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Blacksburg, Va., on September 6, 1928. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Howard Doss; and stepfather, Park Doss.
During his working years, he worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Salisbury, N.C., and retired from Holiday Ford in Blacksburg. Mr. Howard was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed helping others. He was also a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Linkous Howard; daughter and son-inlaw, Susan and Allen Willard, all of Floyd; three grandchildren, Rusty Moore, Nicholas Willard, and Ashley Willard; numerous sisters-inlaw, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his loving and devoted dog, Ginger.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in the Stroke Unit on 12 West for their care during Mr. Howard’s illness.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
