Dorothy Frances Owings Howard – beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many, age 71 of Draper passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at her home. Born 1945 in Blacksburg, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Harwood Watkins Owings, Jr. & Alma Gaye Owings.

Her husband, Michael Edward Howard, Sr. also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her Children- Margaret Clark – Orange, VA., Michael (Mareena) Howard, Jr. – Pulaski, Patricia Faye (David) McGarry – Amherst, John (Stephanie) Howard – Blacksburg, & David (Tonya) Howard – Pulaski.

14 Grandchildren- Rebekah Wirt, Sarah Steele, Kelly McGowan, Cecil Rigney, Michael Dale Howard, Jacob Howard, Matthew McGarry, Timothy McGarry, Gabby Howard, Elliot Howard, Tessa Howard, Adi Jones, Gracie Howard, & Josh Jones.

5 Great Grandchildren-

Sisters- Betty McDonald – PA., Patricia Sinclair – MD.

Brother -Harwood Owings, III – MD.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM – Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Clarence Lavender officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time.
