Elizabeth “Beth” Sluiter Housel, 43, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Sluiter.

Beloved mother, treasured wife, friend and inspiration to many, Beth was an amazing, beautiful woman. Inside and out, she simply shined like the most brilliant of diamonds. She was as sharp as a razor, fierce as a tiger, and as loyal as a Labrador retriever. She was one of those people who you train on a job one day, and then the next day she was already better than everyone else, no matter how long they had been on the job.

Beth loved the ocean, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, flowers, trees, and horses, especially horses, along with dogs and all other natural wonders of our infinite universe. She will be missed by her family and friends with the same love that she gave them, which was without limits. She never held back in this life and always gave everything she had in everything she did. She lived her life in a manner we should all strive to emulate. The loss of this wonderful woman is beyond words.

Beth is survived by her husband, Elijah Housel; son, Sawyer Housel; mother and stepfather, Valerie and Bryant Brooks; brothers and sister-in-law, Travis Sluiter, and Todd and Kristen Sluiter, along with their daughters, Claire and Millie; sister, Ashley Brooks; brother-in-law, Joseph Housel; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Mary Jane Housel; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Old Brick Presbyterian Church in Radford with pastor Robert Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
