Hoston, Pequita Renee

Pequita Renee Hoston, 49, of Pembroke, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Pequita was born on June 26, 1962, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. She was a devoted daughter, aunt, and friend, who always had a smile for everyone. Her kindness and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Pequita graduated from Giles High School where she excelled at track and after graduation was a star softball player. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Randolph Hoston; grandmother, Natalie Marie Saunders; her aunt, Dorothy House; and special cousin, Melvin (Bam) Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Charles and Mary Lois Chapman, and James and Diane Simmons; her stepgrandfather, Nelson Saunders; her brothers, Tim Chapman, Charlie Chapman, and Tony King; her four half brothers; one half sister; her nephews, Chad Chapman, Brandon Chapman, Isaiah Chapman, and Jaylan Baylor; her aunts, Mozella Dickerson, Barbara Hoston, Elizabeth Hoston, and Mary Alice James; her uncles, Jimmy Chapman and Ronnie Chapman; her first cousins, Randy Hoston, Ronald Hoston, Donald Hoston, Rev. Dee Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, Reggie Hoston, and Consuella Hoston; her special friends, Melissa Jones, Adonna Summers, Larry Williams, Becky Harris, Missy Weddle, Mellissa Meredith and the Rev. Joanne Carper; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, in First Baptist Church, Chapman Ave., Pembroke with the Rev. Dee Anderson and the Rev. Fred Carper officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening, September 9, 2011, from 6 until 8:30 p.m. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
