Chief Gunner’s Mate, Homer Kent Horton (75) went to be with his Commander-in-Chief, the Lord Jesus Christ Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was retired from the United States Navy with 20 years of service to his country. Born April 27, 1940 in Pulaski County he was preceded in death by his parents, John “Shorty” Horton & Mabel Horton.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM – Thursday evening at the Dublin Church of God with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until service time Thursday. Interment will be 10:00 AM – Friday morning at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery.
