Horn, Myrtle

Born April 7, 1925 in Buchanan County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Harvey Milton and Julia Horn Keen. She was of the Pentecostal faith becoming a Christian as a teenager. She faithfully served her savoir Jesus for more than 60 years. Faithful in prayer, bible study, praise, worship, and church attendance, she fought a good fight, she finished the course and kept the faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Horn; her step father, Earl Keen; two sisters, Hazel Gouge and Flossie Horn and two brothers, Curtis Keen and Herman Keen.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Shortridge and husband Bill of Galax; three sons, Hartford Horn and wife Doris of Raven, Harlis Horn and wife Debbie of Wilkesboro, NC and Bobby Horn and wife Fonda of Whitewood; three brothers, Harvey Keen of Pilgrims Knob, Roger Keen and James Keen both of Patterson; four sisters, Lovis Owens of Beckley, WV, Oakey Pettry of Statesville, NC, Opal Davis of Patterson and Fay Sparks of Garden Creek; two sisters-in-law, Adele Keen of Pilgrims Knob and Bea Keen of Contrary; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 17, 2007 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Ricky Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Esaw Rife Cemetery at Keen Mountain, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Cameron Smith, Jamie Horn, Joel Horn, Scott Brown, Jackie Dye, Ray Osborne and David Snell.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
