Hood, Roxie Martin
Because of her decision to trust Jesus Christ as Savior, Roxie Hood, 88, of Dublin, went home to be with Him on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Roxie was known by those who loved her as joyful, energetic, loving and caring. She was born on December 8, 1922, to the late Noah and Nellie Martin. She retired in 1984 from Radford University where she was food service supervisor. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hood. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Bobbie Weeks, of Radford; stepchildren, Sandra Cencebaugh, of Florida, Sharon and Barney Lintner and Richard Hood, all of Christiansburg; sister, Coleen (Pooney) Martin, of Radford; brother, Everett Martin, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandson, wife and great- granddaughter, Trey, Stephanie and Amarynn Weeks, of Blacksburg; step grandchildren, Robert Urquhart, Randy Urquhart, Rusty Brass, Kerri L. Thomas, Melissa L. Broom, Chris Lintner, Dani Hood, Suzy Hood, Brett Hood, Grey Hood and Johnie Hood; 12 stepgreat grandchildren; one great- great-grandson; special friends, Susie Peters, Janice Hood and Staff and Residents of Wheatland Hills, in Radford; and a fur child, Moses. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Friendship Baptist Church, 301 Bolling Street, Radford, with Dr. Jon Thomas officiating.
