Honaker, Darlene Manning

Darlene Manning Honaker, 72, of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 18, 2012. She was born in Floyd County to Alton L. Manning (killed in World War II) and Thelma Bartlett Manning (2010). She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Paul Honaker Sr. (2002); a sister, Brenda Joyce Manning; a brother, G.W. Manning Jr.; and her stepdad, Gordon W. Manning Sr. Surviving are her son, Paul (Debbie) Honaker Jr., of Vinton; and daughter, Teresa (David) Burnett, of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Patricia (Brian) Alley, of Stewartsville; and one stepgranddaughter, Chrystal (Keith) Mattson, of SML. Darlene is also survived by two brothers, Homer (Nella) Manning and Thomas (Mary) Manning, both of Roanoke; three sisters, Evelyn (Jerry) Harris, of Danville, Arlene Honaker, Cindy (Richard) Owens, of Salem; many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, many friends and extended family. Darlene was of Baptist faith and a very special person, always wanting to help someone, when she had so little herself. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff on the 6th floor of Lewis Gale Hospital for their care and concern. Memorial services will be held in the Chapel at Sherwood Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Officiating will be Ronald Denson. Until we meet again-We Love You-Rest in Peace.
