Holmes, Jr., Ralph Jones

Rev. Ralph Jones Holmes, Jr., 78, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was a charter member of Fairlawn Church of God and a U. S. Army veteran. He owned and operated Holmes Drywall.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, HM3 Eliot Max Dunne, his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy F. Holmes of Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Carl Hodge of Parrott, Cynthia Anderson of Dublin, Selina and Frank Dunne of Va. Beach, Rev. Lisa and Rev. Joey Shepphard of Summersville, WVa, and Beth and James Davis of Pulaski; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and James Kennedy of Pulaski; and 6 half sisters and a half brother; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Fairlawn Church of God with Rev. Marcus Harrison and Rev. Danny Newman and Rev. T. Michael Bond officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Church of God or to Healing In His Wings Missions and Ren Group.
