Holliday, Cecile Leigh Duncan

Cecile Leigh Duncan Holliday, 71, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on March 21, 1936 to the late Robert Lee and Ercell Bower Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Holliday, a brother, Robert Perry Duncan, and a son-in-law, David Carter.

She was a member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church, and was in the volunteer program at MRH, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Renee Holliday Carter, of Red Hook, N.Y.; son and daughter-in-law, William Kevin and Denise Holliday, of Raleigh, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Moyer Hiatt, of Martinsville, Robin Stuart and Jeff Meador, of Salem; two grandchildren, William Duncan Holliday and Lauren Elisabeth Holliday; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
