Everett M. (Holiday) Hollandsworth, 75, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Gerusha Hollandsworth of Indian Valley, Va.; sisters, Gaye Buckner and Geneva Bryson; brothers, Monroe and Melvin Hollandsworth; and daughter-in-law, Nan Hollandsworth.

Mr. Hollandsworth served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Joe Bandy and Son after more than 35 years of service. His hobbies included blue grass music, making bird houses, and his red 1966 Ford pickup truck. He was extremely proud of his “musician son” and “artist daughter”.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Gloria Likens Hollandsworth; son, Eric M. Hollandsworth and Connie Warnock of Moneta; daughter, Elise H. Hartmann and husband Patrick, of Allentown, N.J.; grandson, Liam Patrick Hartmann (who was the apple of his eye and called him Pop Pop); sisters, Treva Cannaday, of Willis, Sharlene West and husband Russell of Poolesville, Maryland; sister-in-law, Maxine Hollandsworth of Indian Valley; brother-in-law, Bill Bryson of Christiansburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. J. R. Graybill. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home, 366-0707.
