Holland, Sandra Ash

Sandra Louise Ash Holland, 77, of White Gate, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born August 25, 1944 in McCook, NE, the daughter of the late Arthur, Sr. & Francis Ash.

Sandra was a devout Christian who was all about the church and served in many capacities. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She also enjoyed playing piano. She ministered with her husband, raised her family and helped take care of their farm. Known as the “pistol packing Granny,” she was dedicated to her family and was the peacemaker. She will be missed by those who loved her.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur George, Sr. & Francis Jane McCurdy Ash and her husband, Pastor Carlos Wayne Holland.

Left to cherish her memory are her son & daughter-in-law, Stephen & T.J. Holland; her daughter & son-in-law, Karyn & Jonathan Spade; her grandchildren, Ashley Holland, Stephen, Jr. & Catron Holland, Nicholas Holland, Dylan Spade, Paige Spade, Ian Spade and Carli Spade; her great-granddaughter, Zoe Holland; her brothers, Arthur G. Ash, Jr. and Scott Ash; her sister, Linda Abbott; and several extended family members and friends, too may to list.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Jim Kestner officiating. Burial will follow in the Holland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M, until service time, 1:00 P.M.
