Mary Lee Harman Hodges, 97, of Willis, Va. took her long awaited journey home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.

She was the daughter of Martin L. and Cordelia Harman. She grew up on Burks Fork Creek in the Willis Area of Floyd County and lived nearby all her life.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Glen B. Hodges; a daughter, Eula Gay Edwards; a son, Raymond S. Hodges; grandson, Wayne Edwards; and greatgranddaughter, Valerie Wade.

She is survived by ten of her twelve children, who lovingly cared for her when she became incapacitated. Surviving are Hubert Harman of Check, Jean and Rev. Lawrence Lugar of Fayetteville, N.C., Ivadell Harris, Kenneth and Pauline Hodges, Fern Harris, Phyllis and Henry Thompson, all of Willis, Buster and Irene Hodges of Christiansburg, Willadean Hylton, Ewell and Linda Hodges of Floyd, and Jewell and Joe Spickard of Blue Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Minnie Harman of Floyd; daughter-in-law, Sara Hodges of Lorton, Va.; and son-in-law, Franklin D. Edwards. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 24 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Topeco Church of the Brethren, Floyd with the Rev. Mike Varner and the Rev. Lawrence Lugar officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Willis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conner Grove United Methodist Church, Willis, or to a local church of your choice. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
