Hodge, Steven Russell

Steven Russell Hodge, 52, of McCoy, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on March 7, 1955. He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Russell Hodge; son, Jarrett Russell Hodge; and father-in-law, Oval Pat Ramsey.

Steve retired from the Blacksburg Police Department working in the investigation department, also was a avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Jean Hodge of McCoy; his mother and stepfather, Louise S. and Clarence McCoy of McCoy; stepmother, Hazel Hodge of Christiansburg; daughter, Amanda H. Gwinn of Shawsville; son, Patrick Steven Hodge of McCoy; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Kenneth Richardson of Christiansburg; two stepsisters; special stepbrother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jane McCoy of McCoy; grandchildren, Caleb and Jaelin Gwinn of Shawsville; mother-in-law, Flossie Ramesy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, O.P. and Sue Ramsey, all of Narrows; special family friend, Sue Ramsey of Tennessee; niece, Robin and nephew, Stacy; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marsha Hodge, 5807 Centennial Road, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive, SW., Blacksburg, Va.
