Hodge, Sr., Robert Edward

Loving Husband and Father Robert (Bob) Edward Hodge Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. He was born in Hinton West Virginia on October 17, 1934 to Ernest Wilson and Wanda Elizabeth Hodge.

He was the 2nd oldest of 6 children, JoAnn Hopkins, Shelby Smith, Janie Jeffries (deceased), Jackie Dooley and Jerry Hodge.

He graduated from Talcott High school in 1952. He became a machinist and retired from Poly Scientific in Blacksburg Va. He was very active in his local church, Midway Baptist. He was the church treasurer for over 28 years. He was a master mechanic and loved everything about fast cars and racing. Bob was always smiling and singing and loved everyone he met. He always looked on the bright side of life. He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Vera and his children Eddie and June Hodge, Donna and Mike Bishop, Steve and Linda Hodge, Chris and Michelle Hodge and Melanie and Junior Sites. Precious grandchildren include Sarah Kelly, Rachel Bishop, Ryan Hodge, Amanda Shaw, Amy Bishop, Sydnee Hodge, Kaitlyn Elliott, Zachary Creggar, Casey Hodge, Tyler Sites and Hayden Hodge. His great grandkids, Daniel, Chloe and Anthony Kelly.

He also thought the world of his dear nieces and nephews and many aunts and cousins were special to him too. Fond remembrance to all the employees at Poly Scientific who he thought so much of.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday December 4 from 6 to 8 o’clock at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va. Funeral will be at 2’oclock on Friday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel.
