Hodge, Loretta Faye

Loretta Faye Hodge, 67, of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on March 1, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Elsie Willis Riddle. She attended Providence and Ingram Village United Methodist Churches, and was an avid quilter. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 47 years, Danny M. Hodge, of Pearisburg; three daughters, Sherry Akers (Marty), of Forest, Va., Shirley Williams (Cliffton), of Rich Creek, and Susan Huffman (David), of Christiansburg; five grandchildren, Cory and Blaine Akers, Anthony Gautier, Chandler and Madison Cox; a great-grandson, Timothy Akers; two stepgrandchildren, Tessa and Kelsey Williams; a sister, Joyce Aliff, of Narrows; and a special aunt, Elva Davis, of Narrows. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel on Saturday from noon until just prior to the service.
