Hobbs, Elbert Lee

Elbert Lee Hobbs, 83, of Elliston, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his home with family by his side. The son to the late William and Beulah Hobbs, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Amos, Nathan, Richard, Frank, and one sister, Pauline. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Hobbs; children, Sharon Lutz, Frankie Hobbs and his spouse, Betty, and Allen Hobbs; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are his brother, Dallas Hobbs, of Flint, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Ted Lafon and Joe Lafon; sisters-in-law and spouse, C.F. and Peggy Lucas and Madelyn Wimmer. His loving dog, T.J., also survives him. The family will receive friends at The Horne Funeral Home on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Lutz officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for the care given to Mr. Hobbs.
