Clarence “Bill” Hobbs, of Pulaski, passed away suddenly on June 30, 2019. He was born September 29, 1945 in Radford, Virginia. Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Harrison Hobbs, and by his in-laws, George and Thelma Miller.

Bill battled heart problems from the age of 9 but lived a very active life through several heart surgeries, including a heart transplant 10 years ago. Bill had a trucking business, as well as working full time at Water Treatment Plants in both Radford and Pulaski. He loved drag racing, building cars, and buying big trucks to rebuild with his father. His greatest love, however, was his family.

Bill and Pat bought Shadow Ranch in 2000. It became a horse farm for Kim and hundreds of kids who found a special, second home. So, Bill would want to let all these kids know how much they were loved and that he loved watching them achieve their dreams. Much of his time was spent keeping the farm up and either driving horse trailers or making sure trucks and trailers were kept in good mechanical condition.

He and daughter, Karen, made beautiful creations with wood. They spent many hours working in Bill’s shop. He had almost finished a new building to house a new shop and business for the two of them.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy “Pat”, and by his treasured daughters, Karen and Kim and son-in-law Erik, and his most special granddaughter, Jenna Barker. His devoted sister, Diana Bell, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and her daughters also survive. He would also want mention of a special sister-in-law and her husband, Jennifer and Phil McClellan, who were always there for him and Pat

His funeral and a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 7, at Highland Park Community Church in Dublin. Visitation is at 2:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Michael Blouse will lead the service.

Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Bill to Second Hearts, P.O. Box 1381, Hickory, NC 28603-1381 would be appreciated.

The Hobbs family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com
