Hobbs, Betty J.

Betty J. Hobbs, 80, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Lewis Gale-Montgomery Regional Hospital with family by her side. The daughter of the late Houston and Lorine LaFon, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Douglas LaFon; as well as her husband of 61 years, Elbert L. Hobbs. She is survived by her children, Sharon L. Lutz, Frankie L. Hobbs and wife, Betty Jo Hobbs, and Allen W. Hobbs; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild; brothers and sisters, Ted LaFon and wife, Jo, Peggy Lucas and husband, C.F., and Madlyn Wimmer, all from Pearisburg; and her very loving dog, T.J. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Lutz officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Lewis Gale-Montgomery Regional Hospital for their care, kindness and love they showed by her bedside, and a very special thank you to Mrs. Kerry Richardson and Mrs. Ashleigh French, ICU RNs.
