Edith Lenoir Coleman Hines, 93, passed on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at home in Johnson City, TN. She was born on February 15, 1922 in Bassett, VA and was the daughter of the late Lottye Lee Hundley Coleman and Morton Morgan Coleman.

Edith was a member of the Belspring Presbyterian Church, Belspring, VA. She retired in 1984 from Radford Community Hospital as an ER nurse and continued association with physicians, employees, and friends long after. While enjoying travel with family, she enjoyed visiting elderly friends regularly and helped by taking them to appointments or out to lunch. Her desire for helping others in need was her life.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Heywood Hines (1991). Survivors include her sister: Ruth Coleman Duncan, Lynchburg, VA; her children: Jean Hines Wilmouth, Lynchburg, VA; Ronald Heywood Hines and wife Shirley Sparks Hines, Johnson City, TN; grandchildren: Rachel Wilmouth, Salem, VA; Virginia Hines Pfeifer and Christofer Pfeifer, Arlington VA; Richard Heywood Hines , Johnson City, TN; great grandson; Michael Workman and many nieces and nephews.

Heartfelt thanks from family goes to Amedysis Home Health, MSHA Hospice, neighbors and friends who helped over the last few years to care for Edith; with special thanks to Logan White in support. The family and friends who attended her until her death greatly appreciate all efforts, prayers and condolences that have been received.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be planned in the fall at the Belsprings Presbyterian Church. Any acts of kindness or memorials should be directed to the Belsprings Presbyterian Church.
