Hines, Dean

Dean Hines, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Springfield Center in Lindside, WV. Born August 9, 1930, in Giles County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Myrtle Albert Thompson.

Dean was a member of the Lindside United Methodist Church and a former employee of Celanese for over 40 years. Additionally, she was one of the originators of the first Sunday School class at the Rock Camp Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruble Irvin Hines; one son, Dan Hines; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one son, Mike Hines and wife Ruth Ann of Lindside, WV; one daughter, Robin Hines Thomas and husband David of Arlington, TN; three grandchildren, Michael Hines and wife Paula, Jodi Bowers and husband Rex, and Jarrod Hines; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Lindside United Methodist Church with Pastor Becky VanStavern and Rev. Carl Mouser officiating. Burial will follow at Swope Cemetery in Lindside, WV. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2018, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.
