Virginia Greiner Hilton, 98, born in New River, Va. in 1908, died Thursday, December 7, 2006.

She was an active member of First Christian Church, having joined the church when she was 12 years old. She held offices in the State Association Disciples of Christ, and was awarded the Valiant Womans Award by the Church Women United. She was a graduate of Radford High School and attended National Business College in Roanoke.

Surviving are one son and his wife, Thomas B. and Nancy Meyer Hilton, Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Catherine Hilton Watson and her husband, Wally, Newport News, Va., and Thomas and Rhys Hilton, Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton P. Hilton, after 51 years of marriage.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2006 at West View Cemetery with the Rev. Gina Rhea and the Rev. Chris Reisman officiating. As per the request of Mrs. Hilton, there will be no visitation. The family has requested no flowers, however contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Bell Choir Fund. DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford is handling arrangements.
