Hill, April Rorrer
April Dawn Rorrer Hill, 45, passed away October 2, 2018, surrounded by her family at The Springfield Nursing Center in Lindside, WV after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 17, 1973, in Salem, VA she was the daughter of Thomas and Wanda Williams Rorrer.
April was a 1991 graduate of Peterstown High School. April found her true calling as a Certified Nurse Aide. April never met a stranger in the 14 years she worked at Heritage Hall, Rich Creek, VA. Caring for the residents and being a friend to co-workers was a true joy to her. April was a life-long member of Peterstown Christian Church where she made many friendships over the years.
April was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents David P. and Ella Mae Williams; paternal grandfather Joel T. “Drappy,” Rorrer; and her father in law Bucky T. Hill. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband David L. Hill; her only daughter Taylor J. Cumbee and Cody Coulter of Ballard, WV; her beloved grandchildren whom she adored, Bryson, Brody, and Emma of Ballard, WV; a stepson Lee Hill and wife Anna, Deidre Hill, and Danielle Hill all of Princeton, WV; a much admired grandmother Virginia Lilly Rorrer of Lindside, WV; sister Sheila Carder and husband John of Peterstown, WV; brother Tony Rorrer and wife Kim of Draper, VA; niece Amanda Sadler and husband Doug of Pembroke, VA; nephew Wyatt Rorrer of Draper, VA; great nephew Jayden Miller and Levi Sadler of Pembroke, VA. April also left behind a family at Heritage Hall who were so dear to her.
April’s family and friends will never forget the way she forgave quickly, loved with grace, and smiled in spite of pain. Families that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill love that never dies.”
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Chris McKlarney and Pastor Don Henegar officiating. Burial will follow at Peterstown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
