Higgs, Edward Harold

Edward Harold Higgs, 76, of Indian Valley, passed away peacefully Friday February 8, 2008 and is now with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bartie Higgs, son, Roger Dale Higgs, five sisters, two brothers and one infant grandchild.

He was a 16 year member of Willis Full Gospel Church and a Life Member of Hillsville VFW Post #1115.

Survivors include wife, Mary L. Higgs, Indian Valley, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Dona H. and Charles Hall Greensboro, N.C., Janet H. and Maurice L. Harman Willis, Va., Shirley and Dale Wade Stuart, Va., Dana H. and Robert Kitchens Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Jordan and Austin Hall Greensboro, N.C., Eric L. Harman Willis, Va., Seth Wade Stuart, Va., Stacey and Avery Kitchens Winston-Salem, N.C.; sisters, Rocky Jarells, Lucy Quesenberry.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday February 11, 2008 at the Willis Full Gospel Church, with the Rev. Joe Cox and the Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating. Interment will follow at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post #1115. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd.
