Higginbotham, Lynne Allen

Lynne Allen Higginbotham, 82 of Pembroke, VA departed this life early Tuesday morning, June 2, 2020, at his home, in the loving care of his family. Born in Christiansburg, VA, on July 23, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy Lucas Higginbotham.

Lynne enjoyed the time he spent on earth with his family, his wife of 64 years, Margaret Bowles Higginbotham, and toiling in the earth by farming. He also spent his days as a custodian in the Giles County Public School System.

Lynne is preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard Higginbotham; a brother, Larry Higginbotham, a sister, Ollie Higginbotham; a granddaughter, Heather Higginbotham; and a son-in-law, Alan Pack.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret; a son Brian Allen Higginbotham (Angie) of Pembroke; daughters, Pamela Williams (Jackie) of Pembroke; Beverly Martin (Mike) of Pembroke; Debra Sadler (Joey) of Pembroke; Karen Pack of Pembroke; and Kim Harless of Pearisburg; a son-in-law, James Harless of Pembroke; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister, Becky Thornhill of Pembroke.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Kendall Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. In the Kendall funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Poff officiating.

The family wishes to thank his Physical Therapist, Dan, and the nurses from Intrepid Home Health and caregivers, Peggy Falls, and Jamie Sparks.
