Higginbotham, Larry Brown

Larry Brown Higginbotham, 65, of Newport, VA departed this life Saturday evening, December 22, 2012. Born in Giles County on March 28, 1947 he was a son of the late John Lyn and Dorothy Lee Lucas Higginbotham.

Larry was a 1965 Graduate of Giles High School, a graduate of VPI, and retired from The U S Department of the Army as a Computer Programs Analyst. He enjoyed hunting, just being in the woodlands, and spent a lot of time being “a good neighbor”.

He was preceded in death by a baby sister, Ollie and his parents. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his wife Pamela Martin Higginbotham; his son Jason Brown Higginbotham of Maybrook; his daughters and sons-in-law Angela Dee and Donald Vaught of Ripplemead, Sherry Leigh and Todd Simpson of Hiwassee, and Jessica Lynn Miles of Columbus, Ohio; his brother and sister-in-law Lyn Allen and Margaret Higginbotham of Pembroke; his sister and brother-in-law Becky and Paul Thornhill of Pembroke; his grandchildren Shanda and Jordan Green, Danielle Vaught, Kelsey Vaught, Damion (Henry) Higginbotham, Faith Turpin, Caleb Turpin, and Sarah Simpson.

Memorial services will be conducted Thursday evening at 8:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm before the services. (Larry’s hunting buddies are welcome to wear their camouflage gear to the services.)
