Stephon Edwin Hickman, also known as “Stevie”, was born in Radford, VA on November 16, 1961, to Naomi E. Hickman and Robert H. Hickman. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his brother James Hickman, and his devoted aunt, Iravon E. Collins. In the early morning hours of Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the age of 58 years young, Stephon’s soul left his body and set sail for his heavenly home.

Stephon received his formal education from the Roanoke City Public Schools in Roanoke, VA. He received Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, and Basic Electricity Certifications from New River Community College, Dublin, VA. Stephon began his career immediately after graduating from William Fleming High School. He worked in multiple roles with Federal Mogul and General Electric. Stephon remained a dedicated employee to General Electric until he retired in July 2019.

Stephon was quite witty, loved to joke, tease, play around, and did not mind sharing his point of view on most matters. He took pride in giving advice to all his friends but especially to his younger family members. He loved gadgets, cars, motorcycles, fixing things, and adult beverages. He loved sports, especially the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Washington Redskins. However, he most loved spending time with his friends and family.

Stevie leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Stephonie M. Hickman (Austin) of Roanoke, VA: two brothers, Robert D. Hickman, Atlanta, GA and Dr. Antoine L. Hickman (Kisha) of Plantation, FL; one sister, Tamaria Hickman-Caetta (Daniel) of Akron, Ohio; and a niece, nephews, cousins, friends, and his very special friend, Erika Cox. Also, very special to Stevie was the Dow Family.

Stephon Edwin Hickman was loved and respected by many and his memory will last forever.
