Heywood, Elizabeth Z.

Elizabeth Z. “Betty” Heywood, 75 of Peterstown, died Saturday April 16, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. Born February 13, 1941 at Gardner, MA, she was the daughter of the late Virginia Heywood.

Ms. Heywood was a member of the Madams Creek Church of the Living God, attended and was an honorary member of the Community Family Worship Center at Peterstown. She was a retired nurse having worked for both Summers County ARH and Carilion Giles Community Hospital, Pearisburg, VA.

She is survived by her fiancé’ Bobby Suttle of Peterstown, WV; two sons, Kevin Mark Aitken of Roanoke, VA, and Paul J Aitken and wife Ida of Burleson, TX; one daughter, Donna Jean Crunk and husband Bruce of Crawford, TX; nine grandchildren, Donna, Kaylynn, Nolan, DJ, Jason, Robin, Trista, Earl, Ashley, and Courtney; six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV, with Pastors Ron Iddings and Willis Carr officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, VA. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

A gospel sing will be 7:00 PM, Tuesday evening April 19, 2016 at the Peace in the Valley Praise Center at Red Sulphur Springs, WV, as a memorial tribute and to honor the life of Betty.
