Hess, Mendel Hilton

Mendel Hess, age 79 of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Hess; parents, Mendel Robert Hilton and Viola Hilton; and sister, Betty Wade.

Mendel is survived by her son, Michael Linkous and wife Missy of Dublin, Va.; granddaughter, Michaela Dawn Miller; grandson, Michael Miller of Dublin, Va.; one great grandchild, Raelyn; and grandson, M.J. Linkous and Fiancé Aichel Camps of Colorado; brother, Tommy Hilton; and two nephews, Jon Hilton and Joe Hilton all of Christiansburg.

Mendel went to work at Wolverine in 1974 and retires from there in 1991. She spent most of her time volunteering for RSVP, United Way, and delivering cards to Nursing Homes. She also won two presidential awards for her work. Mendel lived spending time with her great granddaughter Raelyn and family. She had many friends that she loved spending time with as well. She will be missed by many.

Funeral Services will be conducted at Horne Funeral Chapel, 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 with Pastor Porter Riner officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Horne Funeral Home.
