Helvey, James Donald

James Donald Helvey, 85, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was born on July 21, 1926, in the Kimberling Community, Bland County, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenza and Emma Helvey; his wife, Edith Helvey; and his sister, Janice Helvey.

He leaves special friends, Richard and Sheila Basham, Bonnie Smith, and Carolyn C. Johnston; and cousins and many other friends to cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Randolph Morris officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. on Thursday until service time. Interment will be at the Morning Star Cemetery, Bland.
