She and her late husband, Paul, cultivated beautiful flower and vegetable gardens throughout their lives together and loved canning fruit preserves to be enjoyed by family and friends year round. Her home was always decorated beautifully for every season and the scene of baked goods ensured that anyone visiting felt welcomed and comfortable.

June often volunteered her time at local polling stations during election time.
