Hedrick, Jr., Willie E.

Willie E. Hedrick Jr., age 76, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, doing what he dearly loved, deer hunting. Born January 2, 1945, in Narrows, VA, he was the son of the late Willie E. and Nila McKinney Hedrick.

Willie was a member of the Community Family Worship Center in Peterstown. He worked as a pipe fitter for many years at Celanese in Narrows, VA. He loved hunting and fishing, and as many know, he was great at telling stories about his hunting and fishing adventures. He loved his family, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Bradley Wickline; brothers in-law, Lemley Gunter, Roger Sneed, and Bobby Raines; and sister in-law, Nora Strickland and husband Carlos. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Raines Hedrick; three sons, Gregory Hedrick and fiancé Greta of Ballard, WV, Brian Hedrick and wife Tina of Pearisburg, VA, and Jason Hedrick and wife Jenni of Peterstown, WV; one daughter, Crystal Collins and husband Michael of Bluefield, WV; two brothers, Harold Hedrick of Vinton, VA, and Rev. Merrell Hedrick and wife Arlene of Narrows, VA; two sisters, Anna Gunter of Narrows, VA, and Lila Trivette of Bristol, VA; sister in-law, Phyllis Ferguson and husband Denny of Peterstown, WV; thirteen grandchildren, Melissa, Cassidy, Joci, Jacob, Nicole, Penelope, Emma, Kerry, Anabelle, Justin, Jordan, Michael, and Ciera; eleven great grandchildren, Zoey, Brody, Andrew, Isabella, Hayden, Declan, Oaklynn, Braxton, Braydon, Cayden, and Bella; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Steven Sneed, Pastor Sherrill Michael, and Pete Dunford officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA.
