To the family, I do not recall meeting Ms. Syer Heath, but I have vivid memories of the late K. Fontaine Syer, who died in May, 2015, from my early days as a freshman at Mt. Holyoke College in 1967. The younger Fontaine was without parallel on the campus that was full of remarkable women, including my classmate, the late wonderful Wendy Wasserstein. Wendy wrote. Fontaine acted, directed, produced and also inspired.
In Bloomington, I tried a few times to contact Fontaine. I saw her productions of Shakespeare at the Indiana University venues and all those old memories of her many talents came flooding back to mind.
My belated wishes to her family here and in Charlottesville. Sarah Jane Hughes
