Hayes, Mary Virginia Richardson

Mary Virginia Richardson Hayes, 82, of Draper, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2006, in the Pulaski Community Hospital.

She was born on June 6, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Nelia and Thomas Richardson of Marion. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack David Hayes. They moved to Pulaski in 1948 where they raised a family and she pursued interests in home and gardening. Mary was a member of Draper Valley Baptist Church. She had five children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Randy and Linda Hayes of Suwanee, Ga., Danny (Dan) and Odessa Hayes of Wytheville, David and Amy Hayes of Bluefield, Donnie Hayes of Draper, Jackie Hayes Brown and Greg Brown of Radford.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 2, 2006, at 2 p.m. from the Draper Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Wednesday evening at the church where the family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
