Hatcher, Dolly Mae Bowden

Dolly Mae Bowden Hatcher, born May 24, 1917 formerly of Ghent, W.Va. died Sunday June 10, 2007 at her home in Dublin.

Member of Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church in Beaver, W.Va. She lived a wonderful life as a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a dedicated gardner, quilter, and cook. She lived life to the fullest, loved to dance, loved music, and her family. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

Proceeded in death by husband, James L. Hatcher; son, Basil Lee Hatcher; parents, Pat and Mahala Bowden; brothers, Teddy Bowden, Olza Bowden; sister, Sarah Jane Bowden Kazee.

Surviving, son and daughter-in-law, James David and Genevieve Hatcher of Indian Valley, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Hatcher and Donald L. Wheeler of Dublin, Va.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Donna Wheeler Caldwell and James K. Caldwell, Jr. of Dublin, Va.; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Donald L. Wheeler, Jr. and Rebecca Mann Wheeler, of Radford, Va.; great-grandsons, Ethan J. Caldwell of Dublin, Va., Travis A. Wheeler, of Glenvar, Va., Wheeler H. Caldwell of Dublin, Va.; great-granddaughter, Hannah M. Wheeler and Haley G. Wheeler of Radford, Va.; sisters, Viola Bowden Ledford of Erwin, Tenn., Pauline Bowden Edwards of Christiansburg, Va., Lorine Bowden Shumate of Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, Alvin Bowden of Dazell, S.C., Carlos Bowden of Palm Bay, Fla., Andrew Bowden of West Columbia, S.C.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry McGrady officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
