The Rev. Price Albert Hartley, 94, of Prices Fork, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at his home. He was born in Anniston, Ala., on August 31, 1913, to the late William H. and Ollie Effie Baxter Hartley.

Rev. Hartley has been in the ministry since August 30, 1933, and has preached for 60 years and published a book of poems. Rev. Hartley has been a member of the Barker family for 41 years.

He is survived by three sons, Paul Donald Hartley, of Wichita, Kan., Andrew Lamar Hartley, of Nampa, Idaho, and Joseph Ray Hartley, of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Ola Mae Smith, of Anniston, Ala.; special friends, Ester Barker, Dean and Pat Barker, the Stover family, Chris Dickerson, and many other friends; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great great -grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Layne Board, the Rev. Cecil Fraizer, the Rev. Jerry Buckner, and the Rev. Tom Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

Friends may call anytime after noon on Friday, August 22, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
