Harrison, Joanna Polley

Joanna Polley Harrison, age 87, of Blacksburg died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky on July 17, 1925 to the late Otto and Eula Powers Polley and was also preceded in death by her husband Samuel Paul Harrison; son, Ronald Eugene Harrison; and brother, Eugene Polley. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy H. and Robert Stockburger of Blacksburg; twin sister, Hester Hunt of Elkhorn City, KY; four grandchildren, Heather and Oddy Papadimitriou, Matthew Walker and Jen Stockburger, Jeffery Paul and Jolene Stockburger, Anna Maria and Darren Pyles; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Walker Stockburger, Harrison Evan Stockburger, Achilles Spiro Papadimitriou, Juliette Diane Stockburger. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Blacksburg Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy McDearis, Dr. Don McKinney and Rev. Todd Millsaps officiating. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Elkhorn City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Land of Promise, c/o Blacksburg Baptist Church, 550 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060. The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 1:00 pm Saturday at the church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
