Marvin Odell Harris (Mo), 84, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Meadows of Dan, Va. on April 7, 1922 to the late Benjamin Herbert and Claudia Agee Harris. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Wood.

Mr. Harris was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. He served in law enforcement for over fifty years in the surrounding area, after retiring he delivered for Meals on Wheels. He also served as a deacon in the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elnora W. Harris of Christiansburg; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill Irvin of Petersburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald S. and Brenda Harris of Blacksburg, David W. and Rita Harris of Sunnyside; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Jim Hodges of Roanoke; brothers and sister-in-law, Esmond Harris of Vinton, Benjamin, Jr. and Mary Harris of Meadows of Dan, Claude Wood of Danville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 28, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Don Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Topeco Cemetery, Floyd, Va. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
