Harris, Dorothy Sisson

Dorothy Sisson Harris, 81, of Shawsville, Va., entered into Heaven on January 31, 2011. She was a faithful 32 year member of Open Door Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a loving husband, James W. Harris; and sons, Michael David Harris and Billy Norman Harris.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Harris, of Newport; son and daughterin-law, Gary and Jean Harris, of Christiansburg; daughter and son-in-law, Joann and David Shepherd, of Shawsville; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Kenny Ratcliff, of Ironto; daughter, Stacy Harris, of Christiansburg; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and many close friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Horne Funeral Home, 1300 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg. The Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the Open Door Baptist Church, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Piedmont Cemetery in Shawsville.
