Harris, Bessie Humphries

Bessie Humphries Harris, passed away March 26, 2007, at her home in Riner at the age of 81. She was a member of the First Radford Pentecostal Holiness Church for 63 years and an active member of the Tower of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dublin for the last five years.

The daughter to the late Rev. Roy Humphries and Estelle T. Humphries, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wakley F. Harris; a sister, Ruby H. Myers; and brother, Omar H. Humphries.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Caldwell, of Riner; two sisters, Lorine H. Rawlings, of Powells Point, N.C. and Janice H. Ross of Collinsville, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John W. Humphries and Claudine B. Humphries, of Indianapolis, Ind., Roy H. Humphries and Mary Jo T. Humphries of Henrico, N.C.; close friends, Bonnie Perry and Lucille Duncan, both of Christiansburg. Numerous nieces, nephews, many other special friends one stepgranddaughter and one stepgreat-grandson also survive her.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Albano and the Rev. Glenard Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in The Pentecostal Conference Cemetery, Dublin, Va.
