Evelyn Marie Harriman, age 91 of Winchester, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Hill Top Senior Living in Winchester. She was born on August 22, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Fannie Annis Wheeling Harriman and the late Harbert Garland Harriman. Ms. Harriman was the widow of Edward Majewski formerly of Hatfield PA.

Ms. Harriman was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She had life-long interests in the arts and literature, and during her life read extensively, and explored many creative pursuits including sewing, needle arts, painting, and paper crafts. She enjoyed traveling and getting out for dining and cultural activities. She was also an early adopter of personal computing technology and was a resource for many technologically challenged friends and co-workers.

Ms. Harriman, who had also worked as a bank teller, retired as Executive Secretary for Volvo in Dublin Va. and Greensboro NC. She was the first person hired by the company, then known as White Motors, for their Dublin VA location. Initially she worked for the company executive from a temporary office while the Dublin plant was under construction. After many years in the executive office at Dublin she relocated to work in the Greensboro Headquarters when her boss was promoted to that location. She lived in High Point NC until she retired, leaving High Point for Hatfield PA when she married Edward Majewski and moving to Winchester Virginia after Majewski’s death.
During her lifetime Ms. Harriman also lived in Millwood VA, Geneva NY, Pulaski VA, Wilmington DE, Norfolk and Virginia Beach VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Bernard Ralph Harriman Sr. and sister Mary Jane Harriman Horton.
She is survived by her eldest brother Ronald E. Harriman of Virginia Beach and four children from her marriage to Roy Elton Turman Sr.: Roy Elton (Susan) Turman Jr., Rhonda Lynn (Steven Priputen) Turman, Timothy Garland (TerryLynn) Turman, and Jeffrey Tyler (Stephanie) Turman; as well as six grandchildren Lisa Turman, Michael Turman, Jennifer Turman Smith, Timothy J. Turman, Savannah Turman, Ethan Turman and five great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews Joie Horton, Anne Harriman, Ric Harriman, Benny Harriman, and generations of Grandnieces, Great-grand nieces and nephews, and many special in-laws, step children and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Seagle Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 pm. The grave side memorial service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Newbern Cemetery.
