Donald (Don) Houston Harrell, 75, of Pulaski, departed this life on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Don is now with our Lord in Heaven, where his earthly trials have ended.

He was born on November 1, 1932 in Pulaski and was the son of the late Ernest “Jack” McKinley Harrell and Nellie Schrader Harrell. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Carson Eugene Harrell. Don was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1950 and he was a veteran of the USAF, having served in the Korean Conflict. Don was a singer and musician who spent a lifetime enjoying and performing country and gospel music.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Judith A. “Judy” Harrell, Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Jackson, High Point, N.C., Wendy and Tony Bentley, Pulaski, Cynthia and Richard Martin, Pulaski, Teresa and Randall Neel, Pearisburg, Sherry Roseberry, Vinton; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Johnny Kidd, Hillsvilie; sister and friend, Louise Grady and Neal Calloway, Lynchburg; brother-in-Law, Danny Underwood, Draper; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Underwood, Draper, Ray and Libby Underwood, Pulaski; grandchildren, Shaylyn and Shane Jackson, Erin, Casey and Andrew Bentley, Kristofer and Amanda Lefebvre, Amanda, Terrance and Gregory Grogan, Haley Neel, Wesley and Jordan Cline; several great-grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; extended family and friends, Faye McKinnon, Jewel Heldreth, Ron Lefebvre and Ricky Jones.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Howlett and the Rev. Wilfred Overton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski.

Visiting will be Monday evening from the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Donations in Don’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, VA 24013. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
